NEW AGE TILES INSTALLATION

First prepare the sheetrock wall intended for the tiles by removing all the dirt and grease if any. Cut a piece of ½” interior plywood covering the space measured for tiles. Nail the plywood onto the wall and be sure the nails are nailed securely onto the stud behind the sheetrock.

Take the first tile out of the box and match the direction of the tile against the diagram above. A,B,C,D shown as the sides and a,b,c,d shown as the corners. (D1)

Take that tile and cut away side A and side B of the black plastic edges so that the tile can be fitted onto the corner showing only the decorative metal and not the black “edges”. Put the first tile and set it at the desired location with the corner “a” and “b” to the edge of the planned area and side “B” to the bottom of the area and ready to arrange the tiles according to normal tile laying method and cutting or bending of the end pieces. Now the second tile can be “fit” onto the first by pushing side B of the second tile into side D of the first tile. (D3) Now take the third tile and insert it onto the first tile by pushing side C of the third tile into side A of the first tile. So on and so forth for all the other tiles that are to be fitted.

To bend a tile into a 90 degree angle, you need to use a router with a V cut bit, a 90 degree V cut bit. (D5e)
You have to set the router table with the tile on top and router mounted on the bottom of the table and set the bit 5mm away from the top aluminum sheet. After the grove is cut, take a steel ruler or flat steel plate, hold down one side of the tile and bend the other side of the cut upward until it achieves a 90 degree. (D5a,5b,5c,5d)

Tiles can also be glued onto a fiber board (baker board) or plywood using construction glue (liquid nail), just put a heavy drop onto the marked round dot behind the tile and be sure to cover all the dots. After applying the glue, push the tile against the wall and hold for a few seconds before let go. (D6)
 

The tiles are very light, weight about 7 oz each, therefore, it can be used as ceiling tiles. To do the ceiling, the method is the same as the wall installation. You can use a thinner plywood, 1/4” will do; as long as the plywood is fully secured onto the ceiling joint.
 

The system is perfect for Kitchen back-flash, it can withhold temperature up to 160 degree F.
 

The tile is also usable in bathroom as a decoration because it is water, fungus and mildew resistant. It is easy to clean and will remain its original lust for a long time to come.
 

It is perfect for behind TV wall decoration, you can mount the LCD TV onto the tile decoration by drilling holds on the tiles that has a 2x4 stud behind it, or you can decorate the TV by mounting the tiles around it after the TV has been hung.
